SC204 Swirly Tree

Today's Sketch is awesome. It' so versatile. I love this set called Snow Swirled. The only problem I have is that I have such a hard time picking out a a tree topper for this tree. This was the best option of them all today. Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

CC194 Really Going Vanilla

Can you believe Jen wanted to sell this stamp set??? SO glad she let me have (borrow) it! This is my Fall / Thanksgiving card. The colors to use today are Really Rust, Very Vanilla and Going Grey. Can you see the grey??? There really is some on here. It was tough to get it on there, but it's there.

Chocolate Party!

Today's Limited Supplies Challenge: Chocolate Theme. Must use chocolate paper and ink somewhere on the project. I chose a cupcake birthday theme. Stampin' Up!'s Chocolate Chip is currently my favorite color. It goes with just about all the other colors. Thanks for peeking into my BLOG today! Have a great weekend!

Shuttle 11-14-08

Look! It's the Space Shuttle. This is the view from my back yard. It was a BEAUTIFUL launch! This picture doesn't do it justice at all! My parents were both raised here in this area, and after my father retired from the Army, we moved back. I have been living here for 19 years and I still try and watch every shuttle launch. They amaze me. I hope our new President keeps our space program running.

Loving Skaters

Isn't this Fun? Today I was to use Kraft, Black and Red as my main colors. This is a two- way open card. The bottom gate panel opens out and then, the inner tree panel opens up. I have seen other stampers use the Trees as a background and that inspired this card today. The iced pond is made out of glitter blended in Crystal Effects. My lady is glittered up too! Thanks for taking a peek today. Enjoy!

More Pocket Silhouettes

Have I mentioned this is one of my favorite stamps and this is one of my favorite color combinations? I actually started out with Kraft and Sahara Sand this morning. Somehow Artichoke took over. And I really like the results.

The World

Another Challenge at SplitCoastStampers.com is the Color Challenge. Today's colors are Pacific Point, Basic Grey and Certainly Celery. This is an awesome combination! My first thought was of the ocean, so I used a World Map stamp. I can totally see myself using this combo again. I think it would be very pretty for something with flowers! Thanks for stopping by!

Special Guests!

So our Special Guest was Marilyn Monroe! Thank goodness the Captain was there in case the party got out of hand, especially since that Russian Sailor did show up! The Firefighter kept his eye out for safety violations! There wasn't any!

Celebrate LSC193

Ok now! Can I toot my own horn and say I REALLY love this card! It was really easy, too! I inherited more of this Designer Paper .. Fall Flowers.. from Jen, so I decided that since I have more and I really like it, too, I might as well use it. What good is it doing hanging around in my file? So here it is!
Anyway, this is for SCS Limited Supplies challenge. A list of supplies is given and I must make a card / project within the boundaries. Today's called for a rectangle and a circle and the only embellishment I could use is ribbon! What do you think?

Halloween Portrait!

October 31st was not really a great day.... in my mind. Nothing seemed to go right. This is us, in our Halloween costumes looking Ok in an Ok photo. One kid was crying, the other wasn't fully costumed, too much forehead on Marilyn... We WILL be doing re-takes!

A Little Spooky

The Green Door is lookin' a little spooky.

SC200

Here's today's sketch challenge card. Another done with Pocket Silhouettes, which has quickly become a favorite of mine. Believe it or not, I was inspired by my son's outfit today, and used Handsome Hunter and Whisper White as my main colors. I threw in some Pretty in Pink for some added interest and also because it is still October, and still Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Miss Me?

Welcome to my poor neglected BLOG! I am busy with Halloween stuff, so I haven't been uploading here much lately. Check back again starting November 1st. I'll have Halloween party pictures to upload and have more time to share.
Thanks for stopping by. See you soon!

Breast Cancer Awareness

For those who do not know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. It emotionally affects me because our mother died from breast cancer at a young age. So get your mammogram and do those self breast checks! Early detection matters!
Anyway, this is another sketch challenge from SplitCoastStampers. Does anyone sing 'Pretty In Pink" by the Psychedelic Furs everytime they use the pretty in pink paper? Was in my head the whole time making this card.

SC195 in Saffron

It's officially Autumn, and I guess subconsciously I am ready because I seem to keep grabbing this So Saffron paper! It's always been a favorite.
Another Wednesday, another fun sketch challenge. Today I used some really pretty papers that Jennifer gave me! Aren't they great?

Some favorite things...

Today's limited Supply challange was to make a mostly white (or Vanilla) card. You should use a basic color.. as in black, brown, or grey plus an accent color.
I used Chocolate Chip, So Saffron and Vanilla, which is a favorite color combo. I stamped with Pocket Silhouettes in chocolate. I am lovin' this set!
I don't really do too many of these simple cards, but I think I may start. I really like how this turned out.
Thanks for the visit!

SC193 is Spooky...

This was a fun color block background card! Lots of fun NEW Designer Papers. Oh, and New Stamps, too! New stamps are always fun! I like this card alot, but not so much on the brad placements. The only ones I am happy with are the bats. The moon should be lower, but what can you do when there's already a hole punched?!
Thanks for looking! Enjoy the day!

Bad Habits Start Early....

Oh, Boy! Is this any indication of what kind of driver he will be? I very rarely talk while driving, where did he learn this??

Sk8 Stars

Oh, my little skater boys! Aren't they just the cutest?

Effects of Ike

Even though Hurricane Ike took a westernly route, we still had some effects from the storm. The waves were really big (you might not notice in the photos) and the rip currents were dangerous! Poor Justin, who loves the water, wasn't allowed in any further than knee deep! Click on the photo to enlarge it and get a better idea on the actual size of the waves.

Eat, Drink & Be Scary

Here's a sneak peak at what you may expect to find in your mailbox in about a month! That's right, Halloween party invites! SO, get that costume dusted off and get ready to scare up some fun.
That's right!!! Costume Mandatory. Don't make me make you wear something hideous and stupid looking if you show up undressed up

Well, It's been a while since I last posted some creativity. But I really liked what I did today, so I thought I'd share. I love these colors. They are SO me!

The results are in!

Hello All, This is a very important post, so make you read it very carefully.
Maybe I have too much time on my hands, or maybe I am just more interesting than you thought, but I took it upon myself to do a taste test! (well, actually, I bought one product brand and decided I liked the other better)
So, MY official preference is.........

The Kraft Jet Puffed Marshmallow Cream !!!
It's smoother, creamier, & more spreadable. The perfect marshmallow flavor makes it a better companion to peanut butter on bread! Overall, I just liked the stuff better. (Just my opinion)
Thanks for joining in on the fun!
And now back to your regular scheduled blog-surfing...
